1. General Overview
PoH acts as a platform connecting guests seeking accommodation with hosts offering properties or experiences. When a booking is made, a direct contract is formed between the guest and the host, with PoH facilitating the transaction and ensuring a secure and compliant process.
2. For Guests
a. Payment and Taxes :
Guests must pay the total booking price, which includes:
Accommodation charges
Applicable service fees
Goods and Services Tax (GST) ranging from 5% to 18%, as per Indian regulations.
GST is collected by PoH and remitted in compliance with government requirements.
b. Reservations:
By booking through PoH, you enter into a binding contract with the host.
You are responsible for following the host’s cancellation policy, check-in/check-out times, and other conditions listed on the property page.
c. House Rules :
Guests must respect all house rules, which may include:
Restrictions on smoking, alcohol, or additional visitors
Limits on noise, use of facilities, or property access times
d. Pets :
Pets are not allowed in listings marked “no pets.”
Service animals are not considered pets, but guests must check property rules before booking.
3. For Hosts
Honoring Reservations : Hosts must honor confirmed bookings and communicate with guests promptly before and during their stay.
Taxes : Hosts are responsible for remitting GST collected from guests to the respective tax authorities as required by law.
Quality and Safety :
Hosts must maintain clean, safe, and well-equipped accommodations.
Listings should accurately describe the property, amenities, and house rules.
Licensing : Hosts are required to comply with all applicable local regulations, including obtaining any necessary licenses or permits.
Damage Protection : If a guest causes damage, the host can submit a reimbursement request through PoH Support for review and resolution.
4. For Both Guests and Hosts
Policies :
Both guests and hosts are subject to PoH’s broader policies on:
Safety and security
Fraud prevention
Community conduct and disturbance prevention
Communication standards
Information and Verification :
PoH may collect, verify, and process identification or other information to ensure trust, safety, and compliance with legal obligations.
Cancellations and Refunds
We understand that travel plans may change unexpectedly.
All cancellations and refunds will be governed by PoH’s official Refund and Cancellation Policy, available on our website.
5. Platform Use
Users agree not to misuse the platform, post false information, or attempt to disrupt service.
PoH reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of its policies or applicable law.
6. Liability
PoH serves as a facilitating platform and is not a party to the individual agreements between guests and hosts.
PoH is not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or liability arising out of interactions between users, except where required by law.
7. Modifications
PoH may update these Terms periodically. Any material changes will be notified via email or displayed on our website. Continued use of the platform after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Governing Law
